A Fall Rusty Junk Bucket Makeover

A few weeks ago I gave a few of my rusty containers a makeover. Hello Pansies and Mums!

Remember this bottomless rusty bucket from the spring? Well the marigolds are gone, but the dusty miller, petunias, and creeping jenny are still with us.

 A few purple and yellow pansies from the local produce stand filled in the holes and will last all winter.

I added a yellow mum to the basket on the bicycle and the fountain grass is blooming in my wash tub along with marigolds and springeri fern.

 I know when we get a frost, the petunias will say good bye, although I'm hoping the pansies will have filled in  more by then. The dusty miller will last another year, so next spring it will get transplanted to a larger container.

Chasing Sunsets

 Is it just me, or does it not seem that fall has the prettiest sunsets?

 There are certain places on my way home that I have scouted out and want to photograph at sun down. After seeing the brilliant sunset one night, I was racing to get to a certain point on my path. I didn't quite make it to exactly where I wanted before the sun dropped below the horizon.

So it got me to thinking, would "chasing sunsets" be a good excuse if I got stopped? Storm chasers get to drive crazy, what about sunset chasers!

Fall Sunset

I drive by this location frequently and always think about taking a picture of the sun setting and the reflection on the pond. Well, the time was right last night and I stopped and took a few pictures! Enjoy and have a great week!

 

Burlap, Lace, and Feather Bridal Bouquets

 I finally got to photograph the new burlap and lace bridal bouquets that I made last weekend. Since I'm not home during the daylight hours to take pictures, I took the bouquets with me to the farm and photographed them in front of bales of hay.

 I decided it would be pretty to create an all white / cream burlap and lace bouquet. I added lots of wispy white feathers to the bouquet and pearls in the center of the fabric roses. This afternoon the bouquet will get its wings and is headed to Alaska! After travelling "north to Alaska", the wedding will actually be a barn / outdoor wedding in Arkansas.

I will definitely be making more bouquets like this to add to my etsy store soon!

 

 

I also photographed this burlap and lace bouquet at the hay field and it is still for sale. Chocolate, natural, and cream burlap, with off white lace compose this rustic, shabby chic bouquet.

A Rainy Weekend

 This weekend I had all these plans to photograph recent yard projects and new items for my etsy store, but alas it rained ALL weekend. I'm not complaining though. I woke up to rain on out tin roof Saturday morning and it didn't stop till these pictures were taken at sunset Sunday evening.

 With the days getting shorter, my window of opportunity to shoot with natural light is decreasing, so until then enjoy the rainbow and sunset pictures. So stay tuned for coming new fall garden decorating projects and new store products to come!
