Chelsey and Sam's Wedding

Y'all! Prepare to be amazed! Chelsey was one of my customers last year and this week she has shared absolutely gorgeous photos from her rustic, burlap and lace fall wedding.

In her email to me, Chelsey said "I can't thank you enough for making such beautiful bouquets for my wedding day! I have recommended you to every bride I know! :)"

Chelsey had an all white burlap  bouquet with feathers, lace, and pearls.

Chelsey and her sister, who was her Maid of Honor. Melanie's bouquet had a few jade and tan roses in it.
The wedding rings.

Chelsey's beautiful bridesmaids!

Chelsey's wonderful husband, Sam. He wore a white burlap rose boutonniere.

I love this photo with the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid arrangements, boots, pearls and antlers.
Amy-Lew Photography from San Angelo, Texas did an amazing job with all of the wedding photos.

The Bride and Groom

Here is pictures of the complete wedding party. When I first saw this picture, I told Chelsey that I loved the gazebo. She replied that this was actually the front of an old church at the Sparkles and Spurs Wedding Venue. She said the owner, Karen Fisher, was a "junk gypsy" and had done an amazing job with the property. I know I love the chippy, peely, vintage charm of the arrangement and that chandalier - swoon!

Now, look at that ring bearer and flower girl, how cute are they?

This picture with all the cowboy hats removed and heads bowed for the wedding prayer is simple beautiful!

A special Thank You to Chelsey for providing the photos from her wedding for me to feature here and for allowing me to be a part of your very special day. Wishing you and Sam many years of
wedded bliss!

I am blessed to have wonderful customers!

I'll Fly Away - Burlap and Feather Wedding Bouquets

I was working on this set of all white bridesmaid bouquets the other night and the song "I'll Fly Away" kept running through my head. Took me back to the days of singing out of the Heavenly Highway Hymnal at church. I even woke up the next morning with the song on my mind!

This prompted me to do a post all about the feather bouquets.  Stop by my etsy shop if you would like your own feather bouquets for your upcoming vintage, farm, barn, or shabby chic farmhouse wedding.

The all white and cream burlap bouquet is a popular choice in my shop. This bouquet had lots of the white feathers added.

This was a sage and brown bridesmaid bouquet with just a few wispy feathers.

The red, brown, tan, and cream bridal bouquet had feather and pearl accents.

This was a jade burlap toss bouquet.

Sometimes it's not all about white feathers- I loved this unique combination of purple and orange with peacock feathers. This bride didn't want lace, so orange tulle was used instead for the boutonnière above and the bridesmaid bouquet below.

DIY Ear Warmers

Hey Y'all, it's cold! But if you've stepped outside, turned on the tv for just a minute, or checked social media, you already know that. Here's the thing, I know many places are at zero or in the negative digits, but for us Texas girls, the teens are ridiculously cold. Like I want to move further south, I hate this weather. I have decided no amount of money or job could make me move north for the winter. I do not know how folks deal with it.

With this brutal cold this week, I decided I needed a toboggan. I hadn't had one since I was a teen, but in our small town, you can't find a one, nor even a head band to keep my ears warm. So, you know me, I made my own ear warmers and it was so simple!

I had bought a brown sweater at the second hand store when I bought the white one and made boot socks. I made another pair of brown leg warmer by simply chopping off the sweater sleeves.

This was the leftover portion of the sleeve. I then had this cute, shabby, lace flower in the cabinet and I simply tied it to the sweater. I applied a little fray check around the raw edges to keep it from raveling and it was done!

I was going to take a picture of me wearing it yesterday, but I had this fit of clostophobia and yanked off my head band, scarf, and jewelry before I got a chance. I'm kinda, no, really getting tired of this cold weather. Me and multiple layers, wearing jackets and gloves, it's getting old really quick. At least I've got a cute head band to keep my ears warm. I just don't know if I'll try to wear it all day at work again. Maybe while running errands or out feeding the cows.

Found this funny and thought I'd share...

Hope you are all staying as warm as you can. What's your secrets for dealing with ol man winter?

P.S. Siri says it's 70 days till spring!!!

Shades of Blue Burlap Bouquets

As I took year end inventory for my shop, I realized I had over 22 different shades of burlap in stock. Among those, I had five shades of BLUE burlap, so this post is dedicated to all things blue. It seems as if we all love the color blue, from blue skies and ocean blue to blue jeans and turquoise blue. Blue is a happy color!
I recently added the ROYAL BLUE burlap and it has been a recent favorite with brides. This bouquet will be shipping out this coming week along with bridesmaid bouquets and bouts.

This combination of the NAVY, tan, and cream makes me happy. I've been drawn to navy this winter. I've added several navy shirts to my wardrobe.

Of course, TURQUOISE is one of my most requested colors for wedding bouquets and boutonnières. Other than the tan, chocolate, and cream, it was also the first colored burlap I added when I started making bridal bouquets.

The JADE burlap and lace bouquet is another favorite.

I also have a BAHAMA TURQUOISE fabric. I have this picture for comparison against the other shades.

Now I'm curious, what is your favorite shade of BLUE?

Just Say No

So, I know I said I wasn't doing the whole New Years Resolution thing, but I changed my mind...

I hit that X today! Yep, I deleted the time zapping, addicting, Candy Crush app off my phone! It took me a little while to follow through with it, but I'm glad I did. I was never connected through Facebook, so if I did decide to put the app back, I'd have to start all over at level one. 215 levels GONE, just like that! As @plowwife said on Instagram "it's like crack"! She decided to take the leap and just say no as well.
Maybe now I'll have more time for reading important stuff, pinteresting, blogging, working on orders, yada, yada, yada...

So who else wants to join me in saying GOOD BYE CANDY CRUSH

Hey, it's already making more time...two blog post in one day! :)

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014

play video from Instagram
"2013, I'd say you've been a pretty good year! Thanks to everyone for traveling along with me on this journey. A year ago, I never would have predicted the way this year turned out. It was more than I ever expected!"

I truly never thought 2013 would have turned put the way it did. I'm so thankful for all the support I have received and all those who have trusted me to be a part of their wedding day. I am blown away.

Now on to 2014! Let's make this a great year. No predictions or resolutions here. Just try to do the best I can everyday.

Happy New Year!
