Kim's Ranch Wedding

Today I would like to feature pictures from Kim's Ranch Wedding! She had placed an order for turquoise burlap and lace bouquets for their summer wedding and this week I received the following pictures and message from the new bride. 

It makes me happy to receive messages like this from customers and know that I have been a part of their special day. I send my congratulations to the bride and groom and wish you many years of happiness together! Thank you for sharing your pictures with us!

All Things Pink

This time of year, my yard turns all shades of pink from roses, crepe myrtles, hens and chicks to petunias, periwinkles, and zinnias.  The butterflies are attracted to the pink lantana in my flower beds, 

while I'm in love with the periwinkles and  zinnias among the rusty milk cans at our steps. 

I placed an old wheel barrow frame among the sweet potato vine and zinnias to "Molly proof" this flower bed. One of the dogs thought laying in there was a perfect spot, but I thought differently and my fix has definitely been keeping the flowers from getting smashed. It's junk with a purpose! 

Speaking of pink, Brittany won this pink and white burlap and lace wedding bouquet from the Moore Farms Rustic Weddings giveaway on Facebook recently. 

She ordered coordinating bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnières for her upcoming wedding.

The snake incident

So here's how the story goes...

Sunday night, approximately 10:00 pm, we both decide we want a little something to snack on before bed. We had ate a mid afternoon lunch and skipped supper.

I decide to eat a pickle. I got a jar of whole pickles out of fridge. Open silverware drawer and pull out a knife to cut up my pickle. 

Jeff decides he's going to eat a bowl of cereal, opens same silverware drawer and starts to reach for a spoon, but something moved. 

Ugggg, something just moved in there...

Insert blood curling screams, I feel the neighbors down the road could have heard.

THERE WAS A SNAKE IN THE SILVERWARE DRAWER! 

Omg, my hand was just beside it.

Insert more screams that should have made someone call 911! He was looking up at me, from that drawer.

More screams and then he was GONE...

But where to you ask? I'd like to know that too.

GONE, vanished, disappeared.

Husband says my screams told him to get the heck outta dodge. 

But I'd like to know where he went. 

He was close to sink drain pipes, so we presume it could have came up beside the pipes somehow. 

BUT, where is it NOW? Is he staring at my every move? Waiting for me to come back? 

Severe anxiety set in, I have pajamas and cowboy boots on, searching and looking for a vanished snake, with an ever looming question of where. 

I couldn't sleep, wanted to move (not an option), freaking out, finally slept a little bit, dreaming about snake catching.

I had jury duty Monday morning and afterwards went to the store and stock up on several snake deterrents. 

I now have clean and much needed organization in my cabinets and no snake was found lurking.

Hopefully my gosh awful screams, vacuuming, clean space, and moth balls tell the snake he's not welcome here no more, no more, no more. I'm still opening every drawer and cabinet with careful consideration, looking before my hand goes in, turning the light on before entering a room...

My fourth grade teacher told us about the snake in her toilet incident years ago.  I've always had a phobia of the snake in the potty and even if I get up and go in the wee hours of the night, I flip the light on to check for snakes. Now, I'm checking everywhere for the unwanted guest. 

Y'all, it's creepy! Now, I don't thing twice about working in yard or walking down by the pond, where snakes live everyday, but a snake in my house, that's a whole different story.

Dreaming of Fall Sunflowers and Sunsets

The days are slowly getting shorter and the sunsets are coming earlier. I've got mixed emotions about it though- fall is one of my favorite times of year, but I hate the days getting shorter.  Fall festivals, cooler weather, sunflowers, pumpkins, and scarecrows I love. Dark at 6:00, I despise. 

Lately I've been dreaming about fall. Partly because school supplies are in the stores and I've passed the football field and saw the boys of fall starting their workouts. I've been getting more request for sunflower and burlap bouquets and have felt inspired to create some new products for my shop. 

Sunset on the backroads- I had to stop for this one and take a picture! I love the wheat and grasses swaying along the fence row.

I added this sunflower bridal bouquet and wreath to my shop this week. Along with the sunflowers, fall leaves, lotus pods, orange ranunculus, pine cones, feathers and berries are included in the bouquet. 

Burlap roses and ivory lace are also included in the bridal bouquet. 

This rustic natural colored grapevine wreath had woodsy stems of lotus pods, grapevine balls, pheasant feathers and a giant brown sunflower.

This bouquet is made out of various types of burlap flowers in shades of golden yellow, burnt orange, chocolate, and tan and is ready to ship as well.

Burlap and Lace Wedding Bouquets

I've worked on several small wedding orders this past week and had fun little mini photo shoots with the bouquets in the glamper and on the farm. 

Rain forced me inside to take completed pictures of the burlap and lace bouquets and I'm so glad it did. Speaking of rain - it has been a fabulous summer with above normal rain and below normal temperatures! The camper has  better natural lighting opposed to inside our house and the shabby decor works right along with the bouquets. 

I played around with the bouquets and several different angles and groupings. The cake plate was one of my favorites. 

This bouquet had a touch of orange thrown in with the turquoise, making me start dreaming about fall!

The ever popular white feather bouquet and matching burlap boutonnière. 

The white feather bouquet was customized and pink and red burlap roses were added for the bridal bouquet, a red rose boutonnière for the groom , and a coordinating cake topper. No rain on the afternoon I photographed this order, so I shot with the barn in the background. 

These romantic colors remind me of Valentines Day.

Pride and Prejudice - Burlap and Book Page Wedding Bouquets

The Pride and Prejudice Wedding Bouquets- 

Morgan sent me a request through my etsy shop for burlap wedding bouquets, only she wanted more doily type fabric in her bouquet and pages from the Jane Austen novel, Pride and Prejudice. 

I customized her order with navy, rustic red, tan, and cream burlap roses with pearl accents. Vintage doilies were tucked among the bouquets and pages from the novel were used among the flowers. 

In each bouquet, I tried to include the title of the book and the authors name, so that each person carrying the bouquets would be able to know the significance of the pages.  

Small bridesmaids bouquets only had red, tan, and cream burlap roses, as the bridesmaids are to wear navy dresses. 

Morgan also requested two stretchy lace bands with coordinating flowers for their dogs!

I tried to get my dog to model for me, but she wasn't the most cooperative! I got the "mom, really?" look and "no, I'm not looking at the camera" poses from her. Hopefully, Morgan's dogs are more excited about being a part of the wedding day festivities. 

Wristlets for the mothers and grandmothers also included the option to be pinned on if they wanted to. 

Other than trying to get the title in the bouquets, I didn't pay attention to the words on the pages. As I finished this wristlet, I realized the leaf said "her mother". Purely coincidental, although I mentioned it to the bride and she said she would make sure her mother received the wristlet to wear.

Now I have a confession, I've never read Pride and Prejudice. I wished I would have taken the time to read the book, before I ripped the pages out and worked them into the wedding bouquets. How about you? Have you read the book?
