Breanne's Wedding Pictures

Breanne shared more pictures from her recent wedding with me!

Breanne was great to work with and just a few weeks before the wedding, she decided to add the mason jar arrangements on shepherds hooks to line the aisle. I made her burlap bouquets to slip in her jars and I love how they turned out for her. Her family made the pergola that they are sitting under and she hung the burlap flower balls from it.

Breanne carried a bridal bouquet with Bahama turquoise burlap roses, while the bridesmaids had medium size bouquets in tan, brown and white.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful wedding and sharing pictures with me! I send my best wishes for you and your husband!

I'll Take the Dirt Road...

Monday morning, back in the "factory" (my studio), cranking up the tunes on my phone, and getting busy on wedding orders...

The first song up on my random playlist was The Dirt Road by Sawyer Brown. What a great way to start the day. With a few exceptions, I like old country way better than the new stuff!

"Daddy worked hard for his dollar, some folks don't, but they don't know which road to follow, because an easy road may lead you astray. I'll take the dirt road, it's all I know...
I've been walking it for years, its gone where I need to go.... It ain't easy, but it ain't suppose to be..."

Next up: Old Sh!t by Miranda Lambert:

"Red man tobacco, grandpa's two cents... old timer... one man's trash is another man's treasure...If it's out of style, sure drives me wild... hand me down tools, black and decker... singing hymns... I'm a fan of it, old sh!t..."
Next up on the random play list: I Hold On by Dierks Bentley
"It's just a beat up old truck, some say that I should trade up... but what they don't understand is its the miles that make a man. I wouldn't trade that thing in for a rocket. What they don't know is my dad and me drove her out to Tennessee and she's still here and now he's gone, so I Hold On...

To the things I believe in, my faith, your love, our freedom, to the things I can count on to keep me going strong, yeah, I hold on, I hold on..."

As I worked and the words got to me and I realized these songs describe my life and that doesn't bother me one bit!

I'll keep on loving and working with old stuff,  holding on to and preserving the history of things I hold dear to me and walking the dirt road called life, because "I've been walking it for years and it's got me where I need to go."

Here's each of the songs, that I found on Youtube. Hope you take a listen and enjoy them too.

Frilly and Distressed Flannels

Hot of the Press! Literally, its super hot the last few weeks, while I've been working on new frilly  and distressed flannels. While working on the shirts, I have been dreaming of fall, pumpkin spice everything, cooler weather, county fairs, and fall mums, scarecrows and all things autumn!  Some of the flannels have lace, some have vintage doilies or hankies, some are distressed and destroyed, all are fun for fall and now available in my shop

Not all the shirts are flannels, like this brown plaid western shirt.
This black and grey flannel would be great for wearing over your favorite school shirt and cheering on your team, on a cool Friday night!

A little gypsy style, boho chic, frilly, fun, rustic, western, vintage, shabby chic...
Each as unique as you are!

Some of the shirts are long enough, the would be great as a tunic dress and layered with leggings, belt, and your favorite boots.

Doily elbow patches!
Sizes range from small through 3X. Please note that most of the flannels are men's sizing, so order accordingly. I do understand the inconsistency in clothes sizing (I have s-xl in my own closet). I have done my best to list the actual measurements of each shirt in their listings! Shirts were laid flat on my table and width measured underarms and length from point of shoulder to front hemline. Grab oneof your favorite shirts out of your closet and compare measurements, to get the perfect fit.
Almost all of the shirts have been previously loved and broke in, repurposed in creative ways and looking for a new home. There may be some imperfections, but that's the wonderful part about all of us, right? Some are newer, hardly worn, some are very vintage and a little tattered. They are super comfy and looking for a new forever closet.

(Any known issues, will be described.)
Don't be like the rest of them, darling.
A special thanks to my very own Farm Boy, for stopping by my photo shoot last week and modeling for me! He kinda likes this motorcycle flannel! The distressed flannels would work for men or women.

There are lots more in my shop, so please go take a look for the current availability!
Angea and I are both excited about all the items we are working on for our fall markets! Of course, our clothing items will be there and you can shop in person and try them on. Please save the date and plan on coming to see us at the East Texas Yamboree and the Backwood's Marketplace!

Why fit in, when you were born to stand OUT? Rustic, Repurposed, Vintage Fashion

Can we talk a little about fashion? I know that is a subject that I never thought I would discuss here, but today, I am launching a repurposed and upcycled clothing line in my shop. Did I just say clothing line? Why yes, yes I did! I doubt my sweet Grandmama ever thought I would be sewing clothes, but over the past few months, I have been working on altering and recreating some one-of-a-kind pieces. I had started last spring and intended to launch earlier in the year, but things happen and I am finally getting them finished up, photographed, described, and listed in my shop. The first set of denim and lace vest, dresses and little girls jackets went live this afternoon!
A little bit gypsy, a little boho, shabby chic, rustic, with a little vintage and a whole lotta love thrown in!

WHY fit in, when you were born to stand OUT ?

For years, I tried to fit in. Over the past few years (and especially since I quit working in town), I seem to have found my own style and much more confident in being ME. I used to never get comments on my clothing and fashion, but it seems when I starting creating some of my own outfits and not afraid to be different, I get more compliments on my style. I almost always get a compliment when I  wear this lace fringe vest! And now YOU CAN TOO!

I like rustic, vintage, fringe, lace, denim, lots of neutral colors, plaid, distressed, aztec print, turquoise...

Things you will never find me wearing: crazy prints, chevron, or zebra. Polka dots and leopard are negotiable, but must be kept to an extreme minimum.

I can't be the only one with list like this, can I?

A few years ago, I bought a brown zebra vest. It's soft, warm, fuzzy, and has two great pockets. I wore it a few times, but I never felt right in it. It wasn't me. I'll put it on and take it off and by golly, it will be in the next garage sale! No matter how comfy it is, it doesn't fit my style and I just can't wear it.

The vest are available in several different sizes and colors including the white / ivory lace, red, and black. This picture (below) is a hint at some of the other new items coming this week!
A fun denim skirt, perfect for wearing with your cowgirl boots! No need for an extra slip or peekaboo lace extender - the lace has already been added to the skirt!
How sweet is this little baby girl's jacket? That is the little bittiest doily I have and I knew it had to go on this jacket!

Follow your Arrow and Be Unique!

From a young age, my Granddaddy always told me,
"You're one of a kind girl, you are one of a kind."
I get that now and I don't mind one bit!

I hope you all love the new clothes as much as I do and hope they will fit your personality as well!
Each item is one of a kind, and a lot of the lace is vintage, so there won't be custom orders / reproductions of these pieces. Please stop by my shop and tell me what your favorite new item is!

Some of the dresses and clothes will make great back to school items for your wardrobe! For anyone in Texas, clothes shopping this weekend, I will refund the sales tax to you, since we have tax free school shopping coming up! (All other states are always tax free.)

P.S. Make sure you sign up for my email newsletter! Email exclusive coupons will be coming out soon!
